Mission Poshan 2.0

 

1. POSHAN Abhiyaan was launched on 8 March 2018 as India’s flagship National Nutrition Mission to improve nutrition outcomes through convergence, technology, and community mobilisation.

The framework is based on serve and return, love-talk-play, and positive guidance, and provides 140 age-appropriate activities through a 36-month stimulation calendar for caregivers.

4. Vidyarambh

Vidyarambh is an Early Childhood Care and Education certificate introduced in August 2025 to support the transition of children from Anganwadi Centres to formal schooling. It recognises preschool education received at Anganwadi Centres and is to be issued to all eligible children. By March 2026, more than 22 lakh Vidyarambh certificates had been issued by States and Union Territories collectively.

5. PoshanVatika

Poshan Vatikas are nutri-gardens being developed at Anganwadi Centres, government schools, and Gram Panchayat lands under the nutrition mission. They promote diet diversity and encourage use of locally available nutritious food. These gardens provide easier access to fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants, while supporting supplementary nutrition, community participation, and healthier food habits among children, women, and families in rural areas.

6. ECCE

ECCE stands for Early Childhood Care and Education and covers children below six years, especially the three to six age group in Anganwadi settings. Under NEP 2020, ECCE became part of the five-year Foundational Stage.
